As you know, milfoil can spread extremely fast so if you think you have found some, you need to do something ASAP. This means you should notify the town by either calling 819-681- 3374 or dropping by the town hall. You should grab some buoys from the landing shelter to mark off the area you are concerned about. Someone will come to check it out as soon as they can. Keep in mind that the worst thing you could do is to touch the plant or try to take it out yourself. The intent behind trying to take out a plant yourself may be good, but you will only further the spread of this invasive species. If you try to remove a plant, many many more will be born from the fragments. The town has experts doing their best to save our lake so please let them handle this.
